Geico Can Help Save You Up to 15 Percent on a Brand New Afghanistan
The Got recently tried to parody the fact that there is no good news to report on, after it had been suggested by poster Ari:
It's like that Geico commerical...
"I have some bad news...60 Iraqis just died in a suicide bombing. But [let's not 'keep focusing on the negative' because] I do have some good news... I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance!"

Chuckle, chuckle. I noticed that the one and only time the Got actually mentioned Afghanistan was back in September 2003 when he complained that there wasn't any progress being made in terms of democratization (we never got an update).
I'm not going to jump in the fray and claim that Mr. Got is too "focused on the negative." The Got, if anything, is focused on hip-hop, hoops, Belichick-Brady '12, Papooses, Mall-Walking and Al Trautwig sightings. (This of course, when he's not busy smoothing things over with his Indian operations overseas. Raj and Aakash, I'm looking at this month's production numbers and I'm not happy!). When he posts anything at all about politics, you can be sure its not glowing praise of anything, surely - but thats the Got style; he's not looking at the world at all if he's not looking through a pair of Skepticals.
And anyways, when it comes to Afghanistan, nowadays you are not too likely to hear mention of the country at all unless it is some ill-informed Anti-Bushocrat trying to tell you that resources were "diverted" from there to Iraq, or that the country has been "abandoned." As Jim Carrey once said: Ree-hee-hee-heaaallyyyyyyy.
Luckily, the Wall Street Journal's Arthur Chrenkoff, among others, periodically provides us with a roundup of the good news from Afghanistan that the mainstream media generally prefers to ignore.
Oh, but make sure you have a little time before you click on the link. Contrary to what Anti-Bushocrats want you to think, it's not a quick read.
