Loser?

Another week, another dignified quote from our beloved Democratic leadership.

From the Review-Journal:

While speaking to students Friday in an American Studies class at Del Sol High School in Las Vegas, Harry Reid referred to Bush and said, "I think this guy is a loser."

Later that day, Reid acknowledged his comment was inappropriate and said he called White House adviser Karl Rove to apologize.

Sticks and stones, Mr. Minority Leader, sticks and stones.

Hardly the worst insult we've heard from the failing minority party over the past few years, but in front of a class of high school students, Mr. Reid's insightful criticism amounts to an interesting choice of words. Come to think of it, it sounds like something you might hear ... in high school.

But as we would have said back in my high school when the jeering got personal at gametime: "Scoreboard!"

So just for shits and giggles, Mr. Reid, let's take a quick look at the halftime score, brought to you by the Billiken's Bluff.

For all his faults, mistakes, shortcomings etc., George W. Bush:

1) Is the most powerful man in the world.
2) Just recently completed a second great personal victory against a Democratic opponent, expanding on his margin of victory.
3) Has greatly expanded the power of his party at the expense of the decimated Democrats.
4) Is loved, respected and treated as a liberator by millions of people around the world, not limited to red state America (as seen in his trip to eastern Europe).

6) Is married to this scorcher:

In all fairness, I should credit Mr. Reid as being the leader of Senate Democrats, which is something.

Minority leader, anyway.

How's that high school audience treating you these days? Teaching them anything about thoughtful, intellectual debate in American politics? Or still just trying to fit in?
