Party Like it's 1999!
The Washington Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls last night 94-91 to advance to the 2nd Round of the NBA Playoffs. As the buzzer sounded fireworks exploded, confetti rained down, and the Washington Wizard 1st Round Playoff Champs Commemorative T-Shirts and hats were distributed.
What?!?! I realize this is Washington's first playoff series win in 23 years, but act as if you've been there before. Act like getting out of the 1st Round is not cause enough to celebrate. No commemorative Championship T-shirts for sneaking out of the 1st Round of the Playoffs. Ever.
Former Detroit Lions Pro-Bowl Running Back Barry Sanders said it best. When asked why he never celebrated and danced in the end-zone after each touchdown, and why instead he just handed the football back to the referee he responded:
"You've got to act like you've been there before, and you'll be there again."
