The Billiken's Bluff

The first few rounds of the NBA Playoffs had a bit of excitement when the Suns and Mavs were trying to outrun one another, but these Conference Finals have just been brutal to watch. Last night's Pistons/Heat Game 7 felt like I was watching an old Knicks/Heat Playoff game circa 1998. No scoring. Missed shots. Players complaining about calls. Refs making suspect calls. Alonzo Mourning bull-dozing his way around the court.

I had no idea that a decisive Game 7 that was close down the stretch (Pistons beat the Heat 88-82) could be so uninspired, so completely lacking in drama.

It was ugly and nearly unwatchable like this masked man.



Call me when Dwayne Wade is healthy next season and the Pistons-style of basketball has been outlawed.
