Breaking the Terrorist Mold

On Wednesday, several U.S. law enforcement officials identified one of the suspects in last Thursday's London Attacks as a Jamaican-born British resident named Lindsey Germaine.

There was an entire article in the NY Times this morning about the lives of the three South Asian Muslim terrorists involved in the London Attacks. It explored their upbringing. Their histories with Muslim organization in Britian and abroad in Pakistan. It documented their family's businesses, and favorite leisure activities.

So...

Why can't I find any more than a single sentence written about this Jamaican-born British resident Lindsey Germaine. A terrorist of Jamaican descent is certainly something new. Westerners worldwide are calling for tougher immigration policies, stronger borders, and more extensive screenings of Arabs and South Asians at any open border. But, if in fact one of the terrorists was of Jamaican descent that certainly complicates things. How are you going to screen for terrorists, if you can't pinpoint who a terrorist is or what they are supposed to look like?

You can have the strongest borders in the world. You can stop all immigration from the Middle East and Asia. You can turn your country into a fortress. But when it gets to the point where anyone in your country, regardless of skin color, or country of origin can be a potential terrorist... Well I don't know what you do at that point.

I realize information may not yet be available on this Lindsey Germaine, however, shouldn't the fact that one of the suspects is Jamaican be making headlines. It would be making headlines on my newspaper, if I were the editor.

Let's get on this MSM. I want to be informed.
